This special edition of Fingerpost is collated by participants of Holywell Trust’s Future Leaders 2020/21 Programme.
To conclude the programme, participants were tasked with delivering a small-scale community project to apply some of the learning and work together in small groups. Due to ongoing restrictions, all projects had to be delivered in a virtual capacity. Five participants chose to collaborate on this issue which explores the impact of COVID-19 on the local community. The articles are from a range of contributors in relation to health and wellbeing, young people’s perspective, the impact on disability services, homeschooling and the ways in which individuals and groups overcame adversity during challenging times.
Future Leaders is a programme that explores key learning themes relevant to leadership, community development and peacebuilding - central to the programme is the focus on the need for an independently-led community sector. The programme addresses the need for succession planning within our sector and enhances the quality and capacity of leaders in the North West.
Thanks to our funders, Department of Foreign Affairs, The Ireland Funds and the Northern Ireland Office for supporting the Future Leaders 2020/21 Programme.
